"Good intentions don’t walk you home. It’s the steps you take when you’re alone."
This song is a reflection on something we all experience: the gap between what we intend and what we actually do.
Inspired by a journal entry from Benjamin Franklin (yes, the kite guy), the lyrics explore the idea that knowing what’s right isn’t enough. Wisdom isn’t a spark — it’s a system. You don’t just decide to be better. You build it — habit by habit, moment by moment.
As Franklin put it:
“The mere speculative conviction that it was our interest to be completely virtuous was not sufficient to prevent our slipping…”
This resonated with me deeply. I’ve seen myself plan, vow, and dream… and still trip on the same old routines. This song is me trying to process that. It’s minimalist, melodic, and (hopefully) mind-expanding — like a quiet voice in your ear reminding you that real change comes from consistency, not conviction.
