"But the wise—they hold both joy and pain. And still see beauty in the rain."

This song explores two powerful ideas from psychologist Robert Sternberg about what makes a person wise:

Balancing our needs, the needs of others, and the needs of something greater — like future generations, the environment, or collective wellbeing.

Knowing when to adapt, when to shape the world, and when to walk away. (Basically the serenity prayer, but with a synthesizer.)

What struck me most was this realization:

Wisdom isn’t about being smart — it’s about perspective and selflessness.

When I look at my own life, I see that I’m most at peace when I’m not acting just for myself, but tuning into what the world needs from me. Living that way takes awareness… and sometimes courage.

This song is a reminder to walk that line — not just for success, but for meaning.
